Glandorf 175th Anniversary Commemorative DVD

The Glandorf 175th Anniversary Commemorative DVD is now available for sale for $20.00 at the following Glandorf locations:

  • First Federal and

  • Touches From the Heart.
All proceeds go to the park. DVD includes pictures of the 1934, 1984 and 2009 parades along with 2009 festival pictures.

Glandorf Park Fest By the Numbers

43,300 cans of beer purchased

8,556 miles our German visitors traveled round trip for the occasion

Over 7,200 hamburgers consumed

3,648 cans of pop sold (“Yes, we DO have Mountain Dew”)

About 3,000 people attended the outdoor shrine mass

2,900 lbs of potatoes sliced, diced and sold as French Fries

Over 2,800 sq. ft. of wooden polka floor assembled for the dance

2,188 unique visitors to the www.glandorfpark.org web site since the festival page was posted in March 2009 (About 10% from Germany)

1,983 bratwursts eaten

1,625 lbs of cans recycled

500 lbs of Splinters’ gizzards fried

135 Bombshelter pizzas served

230 units that participated in the 175th anniversary parade

214 participants in the “Turtle Trot” 5K Run/Walk; from ages 9 to 79

105 minutes long was the parade

25.6 feet was the winning keg toss (full keg - one hand)

26 Glandorf Germany visitors

18 seconds for the fastest turtle to win the turtle race

14 local family hosts for the visitors

10 miles of walking by a park board member during the festival

5.5 hours of sleep a park board member averages during the week of the festival

2 communities revisiting with each other to form an incredible sisterhood!
